Power [House] of Ten

An exhibition space through adaptive reuse of the Historic Union Power House in Chicago, Illinois. The project begins by maintaining the existing building close to its original form.

The building is then scaled down ten times, each new unit reduced to 50% of the previous by volume. The smallest becomes a human-scale vestibule that serves as the main entrance. The project explores a gradient of scale and argues that art spaces are not one size fits all.
